Based on your condition, there are questions you might want to ask your doctor
or surgeon. The following questions are designed to help you find out more
information about your particular condition and the kinds of treatment that
may be right for you. The more informed you are, the more comfortable you'll
be with the decision you, your family, and your doctor make together.
The idea of a hysterectomy can be overwhelming. So it’s important that your
doctor help you understand the reasons why you may need to have your uterus
removed. Ask for some time to speak with him or her in the office, away from
the examining room, when you can be fully dressed and comfortable. It's a good
idea to bring your questions in writing and take notes. You may even want to
bring along a friend or family member. Remember that while your primary care
physician may not be familiar with the term “MIP,” he or she should be
familiar with the phrase “Minimally Invasive Procedure.”
